Uniform and Equipment

We expect all of our students to wear the appropriate uniform throughout their time with us at Melbourn Village College. As well as this we expect students to have the necessary equipment to get the most out of their daily education. Please note that there is a change in uniform requirement for all Year 7-10 students from September 2024 which are:

• Tartan skirt (not black) (only available from our uniform supplier from 1st April 2024)
• PE Shorts (only available from our uniform supplier)

Year 11 (2024/5) are expected to adhere to the correct (2023/4) uniform expectations.

We believe our uniform offers good value for money, using a minimum number of branded items (see uniform cost illustration).

MVC Lockers

At MVC, students can hire their own individual locker for each academic year during their time at the school. The lockers are in the corridor by the gym and are arranged in year group blocks. There are a limited number of lockers and allocation is on a first come first served basis.

The locker rental fee is £10 per year or part-year; no money will be refunded if a child leaves the school part-way through a year, or decides they no longer need the locker.  The money pays for the upkeep of the lockers and is a payment, not a refundable deposit. Students who hire a locker will be given a padlock with two keys. The second key can be retained by Reception as a spare if students wish; we strongly recommend this option!

In July of each Academic year, the school will contact parents/carers to ask whether their child wishes to hire a locker for the next academic year.  If so, payment should be made by the deadline requested (usually end September). Students who hire a locker agree to the terms and conditions shown on the lefthand side of this page.
