Remote Education Provision

Information for students who are absent from school for medical reasons

We believe that students who are too unwell to attend school are too unwell to complete work and the focus should be on getting better to return to school. However, if a student is unable to attend for a long time due to reasons such as mental health or other circumstances, their need will be assessed in light of medical evidence etc and home learning can be provided.

DfE Providing remote education guidance Jan 2023 states: 'Circumstances where it might not be possible for pupils to receive in person education fit into two broad categories: 
• School closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for pupils is restricted 
• Individual cases where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able to learn'
