SLT Update Sept 14th

14th September 2018

Congratulations to Leia Clarkson and Ella Pankhurst, who have worked hard all summer to qualify for the show jumping 3 day final (Sunshine Tour) at The All England Hickstead Showground. Good luck!

On Wednesday night, there were hockey and rugby fixtures for the U16s and year 9 teams against Bassingbourn and Sawston with excellent play by all involved; the U16 hockey team scored a winning goal from an amazing long corner and the Year 9 boys ran in numerous tries against Bassingbourn.

Next week the Year 10 sports leaders will go to Comberton for their leadership conference and a range of teams will visit St Bedes for more hockey and rugby.

We are excited that Ms Cooke, one of our English teachers, will be heading to Bulgaria next Friday to play in her first international match with the England Deaf Rugby Team against the Bulgarian National Women's team. We look forward to hearing of a great result!

Year 11s will be completing their GCSE Spoken Language assessments during the week 15-19th October. Although some lesson time has been given in preparation, most of the planning will need to be completed at home. Students will be given their specific dates and times shortly, but must be ready by the 15th October. Results of these will be published in the summer and recorded separately on their exam certificates as NC (not classified), P (pass), M (merit), or D (distinction). Students have been given written guidance to support them.

We currently have a member of staff who is pregnant. If you suspect that your child/ren have a potential infectious rash (e.g chickpox, measles, rubella etc), please inform the college immediately and you child should remain at home until a diagnosis is confirmed or otherwise.

Have a good weekend.

Deputy Principal
