MVC students immerse themselves in Chinese culture during July trip

Students from MVC embarked on an exciting cultural exchange trip to China, where they spent several enriching days immersed in Mandarin language and traditional Chinese culture.

July 5:
The day began with interactive Mandarin lessons where students explored the beauty of the Chinese language. As part of the cultural activities, they created traditional Chinese fans and tried their hand at Chinese drawing. For lunch, they rolled up their sleeves and learned to make authentic Chinese dumplings. The afternoon was a highlight — visiting a local Chinese high school. Students engaged with their Chinese peers, exchanging stories, smiles, and laughter.

July 6:
The morning continued with more Mandarin lessons. In the afternoon, the group was introduced to the world of Peking Opera — learning about its distinctive costumes, music, and history. The day concluded with a lively evening of basketball, bringing students together through sport and teamwork.

July 7:
The Mandarin lessons this day focused on sports-related vocabulary, reinforcing language through relevant themes. In the afternoon, students participated in traditional Chinese exercises, promoting health and balance. They wrapped up the evening by watching a Chinese movie — a perfect blend of language learning and cultural appreciation.

Throughout these three days, MVC students not only improved their Mandarin skills but also gained meaningful insights into everyday life, arts, and traditions in China. The trip provided unforgettable memories and deepened their global perspective.
